The main ideas are that drawing is become obsolete in the field of architecture, and it's all because of computers. It's true that computers are very convenient but it lacks emotion and the connection of the hand and the mind. Drawing isn't just to put lines on paper to design something. It can be a visual diary for people to memorize and keep track of designs, objects, memories, etc. It's also an emotional connection between your hand and your mind or for you and a colleague. 

2. Interpret the meaning as to how it can apply to you and your work
I think the article is basically talking about how people use the computer for convenience nowadays instead of doing the old fashioned way, drawing. Just because technology is more popular and convenient, people lose sight of the originality of drawing and forget the connection that an artist can have with their hand drawn pieces. It applies to me and my work because every artwork that I finish, I have a feeling of accomplishment. When I look back at the drawing, it's not just a piece of paper with graphite or paint on it, I see it with a perspective of hard work and time. I remember how much work I put into it and judge my own work. It's just like if you saw your own artwork and remembered how little time you put into it, you won't have the same view or feeling when you see it compared to one which you put a lot of time and effort into.

I think the article is actually very true because some people that I know would rather work on their artwork on a computer than spending their time drawing and coloring. It's not that it's a bad thing because it's true that technology is becoming more advanced and drawing with your hand will soon become a thing in the past. However, if everyone stops drawing with their hand, how will people distinguish if they're actually talented and able to express their creativity in the most basic way or that they're just really good with computers?

The reason I'm studying art is because I'm interest in art and I would like to know the background information in order to understand the terms and history of the course more. By knowing more about the history of the art I'm learning, I'm able to understand and even apply the different techniques that were discussed in class. I like to do three dimensional art. 3D art projects are a lot more fun for me because I get to actually make it how I want it instead of erasing over and over again to draw something that I'm satisfied with. I had art lessons when I was in elementary but stopped in middle school. I started drawing again when high school started. I'm now doing my own watercolor projects as well as projects assigned in class.
I want to learn more techniques in order to present my pieces in a more formal and trained manner. In college, I'm hoping to focus more on three dimensional art but also have more contact with photography and design/styling.
